Rebecca Larsen is a New Zealand Author best known for her series of picture books featuring Pūkeko, Kiwi and Hoiho. Her first book Row, row, row your waka was an instant hit with children and quickly saw itself on the Nielsen best sellers list. Now a series, her books are a family project with her brother Richard working on the music, her brother in law Paul on vocals, and friends Tania and Justin on translation and cultural consultation.
During the 2020 lockdown period a very special book was completed, a project that spanned three generations and twenty years. Rebecca helped her Mother complete the story of her Grandfather's experience as a foot soldier and prisoner of war during WWII.
